Administrative data
First-aid measures
Solid form:
- General information: Remove soiled or soaked clothing immediately. If someone exposed to the product feels unwell, contact a doctor and show this safety data sheet. Adhere to personal protective measures when giving first aid
- After inhalation: Remove the casualty into fresh air and keep him calm. Call in a physician immediately and show him the Safety Data Sheet.
- After contact with skin: After contact with molten product cool quickly with cold water. Do not pull solidified product from skin. Start medical treatment immediately. In case of contact with skin wash off immediately with polyethylene glycol 400, then with plenty of water. If polyethylene glycol is not available, rinse of with plenty of water.
- After contact with eyes: Rinse immediately with gently running water for 15 minutes, maintaining eyelids open. Consult at once an ophthalmologist or a physician.
- After ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. Call in a physician immediately and show him the Safety Data Sheet. Let plenty of water be drunk in small gulps.
- Advice to doctor:
- Hazards: Risk of pulmonary oedema
- Treatment: Treat symptomatically.

Fire-fighting measures
Solid form:
- Suitable extinguishing media: foam; water spray jet (limited); dry powder; Water spray jet, but only if the temperature of the melt is below 90 °C. At higher temperatures, there is a risk of a "fat explosion".
- Extinguishing media that must not be used for safety reasons: Full water jet
- Special hazards from the substance itself, its combustion products or from its vapours: In the event of fire the following can be released: Hydrogen chloride (HCl)
- Special protective equipment for firefighting´: Wear flame-proof clothes, flame-proof gloves, and, if necessary, flame-proof hood as well as helmet and fire-brigade boots when fighting fire. Use self-contained breathing apparatus
- Further information: Fire residues and contaminated firefighting water must be disposed of in accordance with the local regulations.

Accidental release measures
Solid form:
- Personal precautions: Ensure adequate ventilation.
- Environmental precautions: Do not allow to enter drains or waterways
- Methods for cleaning up/taking up: The hot melt is to be taken up only by trained personnel (fire-brigade). Chemical protection suit
and, if necessary, additional heat-protection gloves, should be worn when handling the product. Containers in which spilt substance has been collected must be adequately labelled.
- Dispose of absorbed material in accordance with the regulations.
- Clean contaminated floors and objects thoroughly, observing environmental regulations

Handling and storage
Solid form:
- Advice on safe handling: Avoid spilling or spraying in enclosed areas.
- Advice on protection against fire and explosion: In principle, with organic products which are -intentionally or unintentionally- in powdered form,
the danger of a dust explosion should be kept in mind. Avoid impact, friction and accumulation of electrostatic charge. Keep away from sources of ignition - refrain from smoking.
- Requirements for storage rooms and vessels: Storage rooms must be properly ventilated.
- Advice on storage compatibility: Do not store or transport together with foodstuffs.
- Further information on storage conditions: Storage temperature should not fall below 15 °C
Melt form:
- Advice on safe handling: Provide good ventilation of working area (local exhaust ventilation if necessary). When transferring heated product exhaust out the formed vapours.
- Advice on protection against fire and explosion: Observe the general rules of industrial fire protection.
- Requirements for storage rooms and vessels: Keep only in the original container.
- Advice on storage compatibility: Do not store or transport together with foodstuffs.
- Further information on storage conditions: Keep container tightly closed; open and handle with care. Protect from moisture.

Exposure controls / personal protection
General protective measures: The product is dispatched hot. Take care - risk of scalding!, Do not inhale vapours; Avoid contact of molten material with skin
Hygiene measures: At work do not eat, drink, smoke or take drugs. Keep away from foodstuffs and beverages. Wash hands before breaks and after work. Use barrier skin cream. Remove soiled or soaked clothing immediately. Clean skin thoroughly after work; apply skin cream.
Respiratory protection : If ventilation insufficient, use a respiratory protection apparatus
Hand protection : Heat-resistant gloves: These types of protective gloves are offered by various
manufacturers. Please note the manufacturers´ detailed statements, especially about the minimum thickness and the minimum breakthrough time. Consider also the particular working conditions under which the gloves are being used.
Eye protection : Face shield e.g. when fill./emptying processing equipment e.g. when filling containers
Body protection : protective clothing (product as melt) Acid-resistant protective clothing
Stability and reactivity
Thermal decomposition : > 204 °C, Method : DTA
Hazardous reactions: Reactions with strong alkalies.
Hazardous decomposition products: Hydrogen chloride (HCl)
Disposal considerations
Product: Product should be be taken to a suitable and authorized waste disposal site in accordance with relevant regulations and if necessary after consultation with the waste´disposal operator and/or the competent Authorities. Special waste incineration plant with flue gas dust scrubber
Uncleaned packaging: Packaging that cannot be cleaned should be disposed of as product waste
