Description of key information

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Skin sensitisation

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
no adverse effect observed (not sensitising)
Additional information:

The available studies for a related substance (two Buehler tests with two different lots of the test item) are of high quality and do not show any indication of a sensitising potential of the test substance.

A justification for read-across is given in section 13, Assessment reports. The conclusions from these tests are consistent with the results of other tests conducted on rosins and the monovalent cation salts of rosins.

Migrated from Short description of key information:
Results from studies with a related substance (Resin 835 A, Reaction mass of Rosin, hydrogenated and [1R-(1a,4aß,10aa)]-1,2,3,4,4a,9,10,10a-octahydro-7-isopropyl-1,4a-dimethylphenanthren-1-carboxylic acid) are presented and used.
Skin sensitisation (OECD 406, EU method B.6): not sensitising

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on the results of the two studies study "Resin 835 A" showed no evidence for sensitizing properties according to the classification criteria of Directive 2001/59/EC.
