Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The test substance is a dark orange powder. It does not melt or boil under the conditions of the test up to 400 °C. The density of the test substance is 1400 kg/m³ at 20.1°C ± 0.1°C. The mass median diameter of the test substance was determined to be 7 µm. The particle size distribution was found to range from approximately 0.5 µm to 30 µm. The vapour pressure of the test substance was estimated at 25 °C, based on the boiling point calculated and using the Modified Watson Correlation, to be 7.23 x 10 -25 Pa. The calculated partition coefficient of the test substance between n-octanol and aqueous phase is: log Pow = <-5.9. The water solubility of the test substance is 275 g/L at 20 °C. The surface tension of the test substance at 20.3 °C in water was determined to be 67.9 mN/m. The auto flammability temperature of the test substance is 279 °C. The test substance is not "highly flammable". The test substance is not explosive nor have oxidizing property. The behaviour of the test substance in aqueous solutions is dominated by the strongly acidic -SO3H-groups. Therefore, the molecule is negatively charged and is present in anionic form over the whole environmentally relevant pH range.
