The median particle size L50 (D (v, 0.5): 50 % of particle volume or particle mass with lower particle diameter) deduced from these distributions are:

1. test series: L50 = 214.7 µm

2. test series: L50 = 211.2 µm

The average of the median particle size L50 is 213.0 µm

The particle size L10 (D (v,0.1): 10 % of particle volume or particle mass with lower particle diameter) deduced from these distributions are:

1. test series: L10 = 28.99 µm

2. test series: L10 = 27.24 µm

The average of the median particle size L10 is 28.11 um

The particle size L90 (D (v,0.9): 90 % of particle volume or particle mass with lower particle diameter) deduced from these distributions are:

1. test series: L90 = 1044 µm

2. test series: L90 = 1029 µm

The average of the median particle size L90 is 1037.0 µm

Conclusions:
The particle size distribution of potassium hexadecyl hydrogen phosphate was estimated as averages of three measurements at two test series. The results were as follows: d10: 28.11 µm, d50: 213.0 µm, d90: 1037 µm.
Executive summary:

A study was conducted according to OECD TG 110 using laser diffraction. Potassium hexadecyl hydrogen phosphate consist of crystals with different geometric forms. No further treatment of the test item was necessary. The particle size distribution of potassium hexadecyl hydrogen phosphate was estimated as averages of three measurements at two test series. The results were as follows: d10: 28.11 µm, d50: 213.0 µm, d90: 1037 µm. No particles with a diameter below 2.884 µm were found and about 97 % shows a diameter greater than 10 µm.
