Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
Inhalation: Move to fresh air. If symptoms persist, call a physician.
Skin contact: Wash off immediately with soap and plenty of water.
Eye contact: Rinse with plenty of water. If eye irritation persists, consult a specialist.
Ingestion: Drink plenty of water. Call a physician immediately.
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable extinguishing media: All standard extinguishing agents are suitable.
Specific hazards during fire fighting: Vapours form from this product and may travel or be moved by air currents and ignited by pilot lights, other flames, sparks, heaters, electrical equipment, static discharges or other ignition sources at locations distant from product handling point. Vapour may be ignited by static sparks. Use proper bonding and grounding during material transfer.
Special protective equipment for fire-fighters: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective suit.
Further information: Collect contaminated fire extinguishing water separately. This must not be discharged into drains.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions: Extinguish and do not turn on ignition source until the area is determined to be free from fire or explosion hazards. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Avoid contact with liquid and vapours. Use personal protective equipment.
Environmental precautions: Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system.
Methods for cleaning up: Take up with an absorbent for chemicals or, otherwise use dry sand. Sweep up or vacuum up spillage and collect in suitable container for disposal. Flush with plenty of water.
Handling and storage
HANDLING
Advice on safe handling: Do not breathe vapours or spray mist. Do not swallow. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Wash hands before breaks and immediately after handling the product. Ensure adequate ventilation, especially in confined areas. Use proper bonding and grounding during material transfer.
Advice on protection against fire and explosion: Take measures to prevent the build up of electrostatic charge. Mixture may charge electrostatically: always use earthing leads when transferring from one container to another. Provide sufficient air exchange and/or exhaust in work rooms. Keep away from sources of ignition - No smoking. Keep away from combustible material. When using do not smoke. Do not empty into drains.
STORAGE
Requirements for storage areas and containers: Keep containers tightly closed in a cool, well-ventilated place.

ENGINEERING MEASURES
Ensure adequate ventilation, especially in confined areas.
Eye wash bottle with pure water.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
Respiratory protection: In case of insufficient ventilation wear suitable respiratory equipment. Respiratory protection complying with EN 141. Respiratory protection mask with Filtertype ABEK.
Hand protection:
Material: Polyvinylchloride
Minimum break through: > 480 min
Glove thickness: 0.5 mm
Eye protection: Safety glasses with side-shields conforming to EN 166
Skin and body protection: Wear suitable protective clothing and eye/face protection.
Hygiene measures: Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Ensure adequate ventilation, especially in confined areas. Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. Wash hands before breaks and immediately after handling the product. When using, do not eat, drink or smoke.
Stability and reactivity
Materials to avoid: Water
Thermal decomposition: Note: No decomposition if stored and applied as directed.
Further information: Apply the following regulations and datasheets of the German BG Chemie. M 004 "Irritating substances - corrosive substances". M 053 "General industrial protective measures for handling dangerous substances". Acetic acid is formed during processing. Contact with water will result in rapid hydrolysis.
Hazardous decomposition products: Hazardous decomposition products formed under fire conditions: Carbon oxides, Oxides of silicon.
Disposal considerations
Product: Can be incinerated, when in compliance with local regulations.
Contaminated packaging: Dispose of as unused product.
