Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Dust may be irritating to eyes and respiratory tract.

Using proper respiratory protection, immediately remove the

affected victim from exposure. Administer artificial

respiration if breathing has stopped. Keep at rest. Call for

prompt medical attention.

Emergency measure - Eyes: The product is an inert solid. If in the eye, remove as for

any foreign body by flushing with water.  If irritation

occurs, obtain medical attention.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with water.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Low hazard. Material can form flammable mixtures or can burn

only upon heating to temperatures at or above the flash

point.

Use alcohol type foam or dry chemical extinguishing media.

Product arising from burning: The substance will burn, emitting fumes, smoke, carbon

dioxide, carbon monoxide and oxides of nitrogen.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Fire fighters should wear respiratory and eye protection.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Contain spills immediately with inert materials such as sand

and earth. Do not allow to enter drains or watercourses.

Take up spilt material by appropriate means. Carefully

transfer the spillage into waste containers which have to be

tightly closed and labelled according to TRGS 201.

While taking up the spillage and cleaning the polluted area

avoid skin and eye contact with the substance by wearing

appropriate personal protective equipment (see section

"Handling").

Handling and storage

Handling: All working methods must always be designed so that exposure

by skin contact is minimized. Eye contact and, if possible,

inhalation of the substance should be avoided.

As far as possible, closed equipment should be used during

filling, transfer and metered feeding as well as during

sampling.

Provide mechanical ventilation of confined spaces. Use

explosion proof ventilation equipment.

The wearing of respiratory protection (e. g. :::) is

recommended in case inhalative exposure is possible.

To avoid skin contact, tested protective gloves (e. g. made

of PVC) and, if necessary, suitable protective clothing (e.

g. :::) must be worn.

The wearing of eye protection (e. g. :::) is recommended.

Adequate washing facilities should be provided in the

immediate vicinity of the working area. After contact with

the skin, the affected parts of the body should be

thoroughly cleaned instantly using plenty of water. Special

skin-protection and skin-care measures are recommended.

A skin-protection plan should be drawn up.

If aerosols can develop, due to the potential explosion

risk, potential sources of ignition should be removed out of

the working area. In addition, measures should be taken to

prevent electrostatic discharges.

Storage: Store the substance at ambient temperature in the original

packing or other secure containers which are labelled

according to the regulations. Keep them tightly closed and

secure them against falling by taking the appropriate

measures.

Avoid residues on the outside of the containers.

Keep away from potential sources of ignition.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: The preparation will be packaged in carbon steel BLCs or

carbon steel drums

Exposure controls / personal protection

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: Static discharge. Product can accumulate static charges,

which can cause an incendiary electrical discharge.

Chemical reaction with water: None

Dust explosion: Test substance is a viscous, resinous inert solid at room

temperature that cannot easily be ground.

Dust explosion determined by test: N
