Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Clear airways and remove patient to fresh air. Seek medical

attention.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse thoroughly with water for 15 minutes. If irritation

develops, seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with water and then soap and water.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water spray, carbon dioxide, foam or dry powder may be used.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon and

nitrogen together with some soot.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: A self-contained breathing apparatus should be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear suitable protective clothing, see 2.3.1.

Collect spillage using an industrial vacuum cleaner and

transfer to containers for disposal. Wash spill site.

Handling and storage

Handling: Observe the usual precautions for handling organic

chemicals. Ensure adequate ventilation or wear a dust mask,

e.g. EN 149 FF P2 5. Overalls, goggles and disposable

plastic gloves should be worn.

Storage: Store in sealed containers in a cool, dry place.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: 20 kg in high density polyethylene bags. Two of these per

fibre keg.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for reuse is not feasible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Neutralisation by chemical treatment is not possible due to

the hazardous properties of the neutralising reagents.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Disposal at a controlled landfill site is possible. The

concentration of substance in any aqueous run-off must be

kept below 64 mg/l. (A650)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Incineration at an approved facility is possible after

mixing with fuel to promote combustion. Waste gas treatment

to remove oxides of nitrogen should be used. (A661)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will not enter the public domain.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable.
