Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

In a respiratory inhibition test, AD-1000 did not have an effect on the activated sludge, hence the 3-h EC50 is >100 mg/l and the NOEC is 100 mg/l.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for microorganisms:
100 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for microorganisms:
100 mg/L

Additional information

Two studies with AD-1000 were performed, one lasting 30 minutes, the other one with a 3 -hour exposure period.

In a respiration inhibition test according to OECD 209 and EC C.11 test guidelines, activated sludge of a predominantly domestic sewage was exposed to 100 mg/l of AD-1000 for 3 hours under aerobic freshwater conditions. No effects were observed, hence the 3 -h EC50 is >100 mg/l and the NOEC is 100 mg/l. No observations (e.g. precipitation) were present that might cause a difference between measured and nominal values. No effect concentrations exceeding solubility of substance in test medium. The same results were observed in a similar study but with exposure to AD-1000 for 30 minutes.
