Key result
Remarks on result:
other: No self-ignition temperature was observed up to the maximum test temperature of 403 °C.

No self-ignition temperature was observed up to the maximum test temperature of 403 °C, according to the testing guideline for auto-flammability solids - determination of relative self-ignition temperature) in the sense of the European Commission Regulation (EC) No.440/2008, Method A.162. However, the test showed a self-ignition at a low temperature reaching a maximum temperature of 235 °C. According to A.16. the self-ignition temperature is that oven temperature at which the sample reached 400 °C. Therefore, the test showed no self-ignition temperature according to A.16. Furthermore, the test item is classified as self-reactive substance according to its safety data sheet dated December 06, 2010 and showed additionally a low thermal stability. Therefore, it had to be concluded, that the observed reaction would have also happened without the presence of oxygen and was not (or at least not exclusively) caused by a self-ignition.

Conclusions:
According to A.16. the self-ignition temperature is that oven temperature at which the sample reached 400 °C. Therefore, the test showed no self-ignition temperature according to A.16.

Description of key information
