- Type:
- density
- Density:
- 1.141 g/cm³
- Remarks on result:
- other: temperature of measurement was not specified.
- Conclusions:
- The sample density of hexadecyl dihydrogen phosphate was measured to be 1.1412 g/cm3 with a standard deviation of 0.0005 g/cm3 from 5 sequential measurements.
Reference
Five repeat measurements of helium gas expansion were performed to evaluate the volume occupied by the sample. The volume of hexadecyl dihydrogen phosphate was evaluated to be 0.2855 cm3. Since the sample weight used was 0.3258 grams, the density was evaluated to be 1.1412 g/cm3.
The helium pycnometry measurement reflects the density of the solid portion of the material excluding the pores and therefore has units of grams of solid per volume of solid assuming no closed porosity. As such, it is equal to the skeletal density of the material.
Description of key information
The sample density of hexadecyl dihydrogen phosphate was measured to be 1.1412 g/cm3 with a standard deviation of 0.0005 g/cm3 from 5 sequential measurements.
Key value for chemical safety assessment
- Relative density at 20C:
- 1.141
