Inhalation: Move victim to fresh air. Call emergency medical service. Give artificial respiration if victim is not breathing. Administer oxygen if breathing is difficult. Keep victim warm and quiet. Treat symptomatically and supportively. Ensure that medical personnel are aware of the material(s) involved and take precautions to protect themselves.
Skin contact: Remove and isolate contaminated clothing and shoes. In case of contact with substance, immediately flush skin with running water for at least 20 minutes. Exposure controls / personal protection
Exposure limits: Please refer to the Chemical Safety Report and/or the Annex to the Safety Data Sheet for information on DNELs.
Appropriate engineering controls: Good general ventilation providing at least 3 ACH is considered sufficient to control the air concentration. Eyewash fountains should be provided in areas where there is any possibility that workers could be exposed to the substance. Follow safe industrial engineering/laboratory practices when handling any chemical. Ensure appropriate level of containment for the emission source as specified in the exposure scenario.
Personal protective equipment:
- Respiratory protection: Use respiratory protection if indicated in the exposure scenarios included in the Chemical Safety Report and/or attached in the Annex to the Safety Data Sheet. Respiratory protection with an assigned protection factor of 10 or higher and Type A filter is considered suitable. Make sure to use an approved respirator or equivalent in accordance with EN529.
- Hand protection: When direct contact with substance is expected, wear protective gloves tested to EN374 with breakthrough time of 8 hours (thickness at least 0.5 mm). Suitable materials: neoprene, PVC. Unsuitable materials: nitrile, butyl, PVA, Viton, SilverShield.
- Eye protection: Tight fitting goggles or face shield.
- Skin and body protection: Full skin coverage required using coverall or lab coat.
