- The test and control containers were labeled with Study No., Name of the Product, No. of Daphnia per concentration and the Date of Initiation and Completion of the Experiment. Four replicates of five concentrations i.e 20, 40, 60, 80 and 100 mg/l and 20 Daphnia per concentration (four replicates of single concentration and each replicate containing five Daphnia) was made.

The compound has been tested as per ‘OECD Guideline for the testing of Chemicals, Daphnia Acute
Immobilization Test Guideline No. 202 adopted on 13th April 2004’ - Executive summary:
The study was conducted to determine the ‘Immobilization test of ‘Heptyl Undecylenate’ on a benthic zooplankton strain ‘Daphnia magna’. In the present study, a limit test was performed at 100 mg/l concentration, of the test item ‘Heptyl Undecylenate’ with 20 Daphnia (four replicates of five Daphnids each). Based on the result of the limit test, the Main Test was conducted taking five different concentrations of the test item (20, 40, 60, 80 and 100 mg/l). Similarly, 20 Daphnia each (four replicates of five Daphnids each) for negative control (water) and solvent control (at 30mg/l concentration of CMC)) groups were used (the volume of solvent, used in the test concentrations and controls was kept same).
On the basis of these concentrations, the EC50 was estimated which came out as:
EC50 : 3.90mg/l of water
95 % F. limit : 2.74- 5.04 mg/l of water
Lowest concentration causing 100 % immobility in Daphnia : 20 mg/ l of water
