First-aid measures

General advice: Consult a physician. Move out of the dangerous area.
In inhaled: Get medical aid immediatelly. Remove from exposure and move to fresh air immediatelly. If not breathing give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Do NOT use mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. If breathing has ceased appply artificial respiration using oxygen and suitable mechanical device such as bag and a mask.
In case of contact with the eyes: Frlush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, occasionally lifting the upper and the lower eyelids. Get medical aid. Do NOT allow the person to rub eyes or keep eyes closed. Consult a physician.
In case of contact with the skin: Get medical aid. Flush skin with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing and shoes. Wahs clothing before reuse.
If swallowed: Do not induce vomiting. If the person is counscious and alert, give 2-4 cupfuls of milk or water. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Get medical aid.
Antidote: methylene blue, alone or in combination with oxygen is indicated as a treatment in nitrite induce methemoglobinemia.

Fire-fighting measures

Siutable extinguishing media: Dry extinquishing powder, Carbon dioxide, San.
Fight large fire with alcohol resistant foam or water spray.
Instructions: Cool surrounding containers with water spray. If possible take container out of dangerous zone.
Heating causes a rise in pressure , risk of bursting an explosion.
Shut off all sources of ignition.
Beware of backfire.
Fight the fire from safe cover.
Use only explosion-proof equipment.

Accidental release measures

Shut off all sources of ignition.
Evacuate area. Warn affected surroundngs.
Wear suitable respiratory prtection.
Absorb any split liquid with an absorbent (e.g. diatomite, vermiculite, sand) and dispose os according to the regulations.
Use non-sparling tools.
Afterward ventilate area ans wash spill site .
Endangerment of water: The effects on water sources have not been yet categorised. Yet escape into ground, lakes, or streams should be avoided under all circumstances. Inform responsible authorities in case of escape.

Handling and storage

Technical measures for handling
Workplace: Provision of very good ventilation in the working area. Washing facility at the workplace required. When handling excessive amounts of the substance an emergency shower is required.
Equipment: Use only closed apparatus. If release of the substance cannot be prevented, then ot should be sanctioned off at the point of exit. label containers and pipelines clearly.
Use leak-proof equipment with exhaust for refilling and transfer. Do not transport with/using compressed air.
Storage:
Do not use any food containers - risk of mistake. Store in the original cintainer as much as possible. Keep container tightly closed in a cool, dry and well-ventilated place. Protect from overheating/heating up.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Body protection:
Depending on the risk, wear a tight protective clothing or a suitable chemical protection suit.
Wear flameproof, antistatic protective clothing.
Respiratory protection:
In an emergency (e.g. unintentional release of the substance) respiratory protection must be worn. The maximum period for wear should be considered.
Respiratory protection: Gas filter B, colour code grey.
Use insulating device for concentrations above the usage limits for filter devices, for oxygen concentrations below 17% volume, or in circumstances which are unclear.
Eye protection: Sufficient eye protection should be worn. Wera glasses with side protection.
Hand protection: The use of resistant protectice gloves is recommended.
Skin protection cremes do not protect as effectivelly against the substances as protective gloves.

Stability and reactivity

Stable under normal temperatures and pressures.
Conditions to avoid: Ignition sources, excess heat, combustible materials, reducing agents, strong oxidisers.
Other incompatible materials: Reducing agents, finely powdered metals, strong acids.
Hazardous decomposition products: Carbon monoxide, oxides of nitrogen, carbon dioxide.
