Specific details on test material used for the study:
Kathon" 886F Biocide is an aqueous formulation consisting of 5-chloro-2-methyl-4- isothiazolin-3-one and 2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one in a 3 to 1 weight ratio and a stabilizer. The nominal level of the active ingredients in this formulation is approximately 14%. Kathon" 886F, Lot 6110C015, was used as both the Purified
Active Substance of Stated Specification and the Technical Material. Lot 61 10C015 is a clear, pale yellow liquid at room temperature and was found to contain 10.81% RH-651 and 3.24% RH-573, total Al = 14.05%, when analyzed via GLP guidelines

Conclusions:
The freezing temperature of KathonB 886F Biocide is less than - 25°C
Executive summary:

The freezing temperature was determined by cooling the test substance at a controlled rate, in accordance with British Standard 4633: 1970, until a sample temperature plateau was observed at the crystallising point.

A small glass tube containing test substance (1 0 ml) at room temperature was placed in a larger tube, in a water bath, where the temperature of the cooling medium was about -30°C. The sample was stirred continuously and the temperature monitored with a thermocouple. A second test was performed using a fresh sample.

The freezing point of KathonB 886F Biocide was determined to be less than -25°C at which temperature the testing was halted.

Conclusions:
The melting point of CIT is between 46.2-50.3°C.
Executive summary:

The melting point of the test substance 5 -chloro-2 -methyl-2H-isothiazol-3 -one (CIT) was detemined according to OECD guideline 102. Crystalline test substance was obtained from the supplied 8% solution in ethyl acetate by evaporation of the solvent. The test substance was heated in a one side closed glass capillary within a metal block and was observed for transition of the physical state. The transition temperature was noted.
