Conclusion on classification

Short-term aquatic toxicity data are available for freshwater species of three trophic levels (fish, aquatic invertebrates and aquatic algae). The acute effect values for fish (C. carpio), daphnids (D. magna) and algae (P. subcapitata) are 4.1 mg/l, 3.4 mg/l and 5.3 mg/l, respectively. The substance does not need to be classified for acute aquatic hazard because all acute values are > 1 mg/l. Long-term aquatic toxicity data are available only for aquatic algae for which ErC10 and NOEC values were determined at 2.0 and 1.1 mg/l, respectively. As the available chronic effect values are >1 mg/l, chronic classification needs to be based only on acute data. The substance is readily biodegradable, has a log Kow of 5.5 an in vitro BCF indicating a value of 502 and a lowest acute effect value in the range of 1-10 mg/L based on which it is classified as Chronic 2 (H411: Toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects) according to Regulation 1272/2008/EC (CLP) and its updates.
