- Test procedure:
- burning rate test: preliminary screening test
- Remarks on result:
- substance does not ignite and propagate combustion either by burning with flame or smouldering along 200 mm of the powder train within the 2 minutes test period
- Interpretation of results:
- not classified based on GHS criteria
- Conclusions:
- The test item is not a flammable solid.
- Executive summary:
The flammability of the test item (solid) was determined according to method EU A.10 Flammability (solids) and UN test N.1 (Test method for readily combustible solids).
In the preliminary test the test item could not be ignited with a flame. The test item melted and decomposed. Above the melted test item flames were observed for a short time, no propagation of the flames was observed. The performance of the main test was not necessary.
The test item is not a highly flammable solid in the sense of the European Commission Regulation (EC) No. 440/2008, Method A.10.
The test item is not a readily combustible solid in the sense of UN Manual of Test and Criteria, Method N.1.
The test item is not a flammable solid according to chapter 2.7[1] of the GHS (CLP) Regulations.
[1]Chapter 2.7 of the UN Globally harmonised system of classification and labelling of chemicals (GHS), 4th revised edition, 2011 (UN GHS) and also chapter 2.7 in the CLP Regulation 1272/2008 (EU GHS).

Preliminary test
The test item could not be ignited with a flame. The test item melted and decomposed. Above the melted test item flames were observed for a short time, no propagation of the flames was observed.
The performance of the main test was not necessary.
Description of key information
In order to determine the flammability of the test item it was subjected to testing in accordance with methods EU A.10 and UN Test N.1.
In the preliminary test the test item could not be ignited with a flame. However, it melted and decomposed. Flames could be observed above the melted substance for a short time without propagation. The main test did not have to be performed.
Based on these results, the test item is considered to be non-flammable.
Key value for chemical safety assessment
- Flammability:
- not classified
