advice/attention.
Fire-fighting measures
Extinguishing media : Suitable extinguishing media : Carbon dioxide (CO2). Powder. Bank fires with firefighting foam.
Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture : Fire hazard : Under fire conditions, hazardous fumes will be present. carbon oxides (CO and CO2).
Advice for firefighters
Precautionary measures fire : Exercise caution when fighting any chemical fire.
Protection during firefighting : Do not enter fire area without proper protective equipment, including respiratory protection. Do not breathe fumes from fires or vapours from decomposition.
Accidental release measures
General measures : Ventilate area. Avoid creating or spreading dust.
Emergency procedures : Evacuate area.
For emergency responders - Protective equipment : Wear suitable protective clothing, gloves and eye or face protection. Where excessive dust may
result, wear approved mask.
Environmental precautions : Prevent entry to sewers and public waters.
Methods and material for containment and cleaning up - For containment : Collect spills and put it into appropriated container.
Methods for cleaning up : Wash away remainder with plenty of water.
Handling and storage
This substance is handled under Strictly Controlled Conditions in accordance with the REACH regulation Article 17(3) for on-site isolated intermediate and, in case the substance is transported to other sites for further processing, the substance should be handled at these sites under Strictly Controlled Conditions as specified in REACH regulation Article 18(4). Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements including the selection of engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls in accordance with risk-based management systems is available at each Manufacturing site.
Written confirmation of application of Strictly Controlled Conditions has been received from every affected Distributor and Downstream Processor/User of the Registrant’s intermediate.
Precautions for safe handling
Additional hazards when processed : Avoid raising powdered materials into airborne dust, creating an explosion hazard. Provide local exhaust or general room ventilation to minimize exposure to dust.
Precautions for safe handling : Do not get in eyes, on skin, or on clothing. Handle carefully. Avoid all unnecessary exposure. Do not breathe dust.
Hygiene measures : Do no eat, drink or smoke when using this product. Wash hands and other exposed areas with soap and water before leaving work. Take off immediately all contaminated clothing.
Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities
Technical measures : Use special care to avoid static electric charges.
Storage conditions : Keep in a cool, well-ventilated place away from moisture. Store in tightly closed containers.
