Description of key information

CRC reported the vapour pressure of benzene of 10 kPa at 20˚C and 100 kPa at 79.7˚C. BASF reported the pressure of benzene of 9.4 kPa at 20 ˚C.

The lowest value was used the chemical safety assessment.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Vapour pressure:
9.4 kPa
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

BASF benzene vapour pressure report was used as a key study. The CRC Handbook is a peer reviewed handbook and so can be considered reliable and suitable for use as a supporting study for this endpoint. Another supporting study (ICSC 2003) is also a peer reviewed handbook and supports the value reported in the key study, giving a vapour pressure of 10 kPa at 20˚C.
