Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
oxidising solids
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is incapable of reacting exothermically with combustible materials

Description of key information

Reaction mass of cobalt sulphide and nickel sulphide and trinickel disulphide has no oxidising properties, it does not contain a surplus of oxygen or any structural groups known to be correlated with a tendency to react exothermically with combustible material.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Oxidising properties:
non oxidising

Additional information

According to Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, Annex VII, Section 7.13, Column 2,the study does not need to be conducted if the substance is incapable of reacting exothermically with combustible materials, for example on the basis of the chemical structure.

Reaction mass of cobalt sulphide and nickel sulphide and trinickel disulphide does not contain a surplus of oxygen or any structural groups known to be correlated with a tendency to react exothermally with combustible material.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Reaction mass of cobalt sulphide and nickel sulphide and trinickel disulphide does not need to be classified according to CLP Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 since oxidising properties are considered non-relevant based on the chemical structure.
