Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

DT50 > 60d in biodegradation in water simulation test (OECD 309)

Additional information

O,O,O-triphenyl phosphorothioate is not readily biodegradable according to OECD criteria. Primary degradation (~ 50%) and a certain but low degree of mineralization (17-19%) was observed in several ready and inherent biodegradation screening tests. Under more realistic environmental conditions of a biodegradation in water simulation test according to OECD 309, biodegradation was found to be even lower as indicated by quantitatively few metabolites and a DT50 of 3000 to >10000 days depending on the concentration tested. Thus, O,O,O-triphenyl phosphorothioate is considered to be very persistent in the environment.
