Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Data provided by ECHA under the 12 year rule suggests a very high solubility of 110 mg/l, but modelling of the main constituent and estimates based on similar substances would suggest a ater solubility of under 1 mg/l.  However, aquatic toxicity studies report figures of up to 3 mg/l.

Solubility was determined by the Kolf method. For the phosphates salts fraction solubility was determined at 110 mg/L water. The polycarbonate fraction was completely soluble in water (in this study ca. 1.5-2 g/L water). Without precise information on the test performed or the material used for testing, this result is somewhat meaningless.

Actual water solubility was estimated at 3 mg/L based on analytical results from aquatic ecotoxicology studies.
