- Endpoint:
- pyrophoric solids
- Data waiving:
- study scientifically not necessary / other information available
- Justification for data waiving:
- the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is known to be stable in contact with air at room temperature for prolonged periods of time (days) and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied
- Justification for type of information:
- JUSTIFICATION FOR DATA WAIVING
Pyrophoric properties: The test was not performed experimentally because practical experience exists at the sponsor and the test facility, e.g. when handling small amounts of the test substance repeatedly in air during testing. The test substance is therefore regarded as not being pyrophoric. - Endpoint:
- substances / mixtures which in contact with water emit flammable gases
- Data waiving:
- study scientifically not necessary / other information available
- Justification for data waiving:
- the study does not need to be conducted because the experience in production or handling shows that the substance does not react with water, e.g. the substance is manufactured with water or washed with water
- Justification for type of information:
- JUSTIFICATION FOR DATA WAIVING
Flammability in contact with water: The practical experience of the sponsor and the test facility shows that no gases are developed, when the test substance is in contact with water. The test substance is therefore regarded as not being flammable in contact with water. - Endpoint:
- flammable solids

- Interpretation of results:
- highly flammable
- Conclusions:
- Butan-2-one-O,O’,O’’,O’’’- silanetetrayl tetraoxime (TOS) is flammable solid, Category 1 according to UN N.1.
- Executive summary:
Determination of the flammability for solids was performed according to UN N.1 test (Test method for readily combustible solids) from the Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 on classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures. After performing a preliminary screening test where results were positive (combustion propagated along 200 mm of the train within the 2 minutes test period), the main burn rate test was performed (six trials). The sortest buring time was determined to be of 39 seconds and the wetted zone did not stop fire in any of the attemps. Based on these result, the test sample was determined to be a flammable solid, category 1 according to UN N.1.

- Interpretation of results:
- highly flammable
- Conclusions:
- The test substance was determined to be highly flammable in accordance with test A.10. criteria.
- Executive summary:
A flammability (solids) test was performed according to EU method A.10 (GLP study). The shorter burning time was determined to be 36 s and the burninig rate 2.78 mm/s. Based on these results, the test substance was determined to be highly flammable in accordance with test A.10. criteria.
