In the test conditions, Ammonium carbonate tested from 0.1 to 10 mg/plate in an Ames test on Salmonella typhimurium TA97 and TA102 gave negative results bot with and without metabolic activation.
Therefore, ammonium carbonate is not considered as genotoxic.
