Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The test substance is an organic peroxide and thermally unstable and will undergo an exothermic self-accelerated decomposition at elevated temperatures. As the test substance is a liquid, a test can be waived.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

According to REACH Regulation (Annex XI, 2.), a study does not need to be done if testing is not feasible. The test substance has a self-accelerating decomposition temperature of 55°C - 70°C depending on the container size. The hydroperoxide content decreases rapidly with increasing temperature. Therefore the test substance will decompose under the test conditions which have to be applied for the determination of the self-ignition temperature (reference SADT: CLP regulations 2.15.2.3 and UN Recommendations on the transport of Dangerous Goods, Manual of Tests and Criteria, sub-sections 28.1, 28.2, 28.3, and Table 28.3)
