Administrative data
First-aid measures
EYE: Flush eyes thoroughly with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses after initial 1-2 minutes and continue flushing for several additional minutes. If effects occur, consult a physician, preferably an ophthalmologist.
SKIN: Immediately flush skin with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing and shoes. Obtain medical attention without delay. Wash clothing before reuse. Destroy contaminated articles such as shoes.
INGESTION: Call a poison control center or doctor immediately for treatment advice. Have person sip a glass of water if able to swallow. Do not induce vomiting unless told to do so by the poison control center or doctor. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.
INHALATION: Move person to fresh air; if effects occur, consult a physician.
NOTE TO PHYSICIAN: No specific antidote. Treatment of exposure should be directed at the control of symptoms and the clinical condition of the patient.
Fire-fighting measures
FLASH POINT: 35°C
EXTINGUISHING MEDIA: Extinguish fires with water fog or fine spray, dry chemical or carbon dioxide fire extinguishers, and/or foam. Do not use direct water stream. Straight or direct water streams may not be effective to extinguish fire. Alcohol resistant foams (ATC type) are preferred. General purpose synthetic foams (including AFFF) or protein foams may function, but will be less effective.
HAZARDOUS COMBUSTION PRODUCTS: During a fire, smoke may contain the original material in addition to combustion products of varying composition which may be toxic and/or irritating. Combustion products may include and are not limited to: nitrogen oxides, hydrogen fluoride, carbon monoxide, and/or carbon dioxide.
FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARDS: Do not use direct water stream. Straight or direct water streams may not be effective to extinguish fire. Alcohol resistant foams (ATC type) are preferred. General purpose synthetic foams (including AFFF) or protein foams may function, but will be less effective.
OTHER FLAMMABILITY INFORMATION: Violent steam generation or eruption may occur upon application of direct water stream to hot liquids. Flammable mixtures may exist within the vapour space of containers at room temperature. Flammable concentrations of vapour can accumulate at temperatures above flash point. Dense smoke is produced when product burns.
FIRE-FIGHTING INSTRUCTIONS: Keep people away. Isolate fire area and deny unnecessary entry. Water may not be effective in extinguishing fire. Do not use direct water stream. May spread fire. Eliminate ignition sources. Move container from fire area if this is possible without hazard. Burning liquids may be moved by flushing with water to protect personnel and minimize property damage.
FIRE-FIGHTING EQUIPMENT: Wear positive-pressure self containing breathing apparatus (SCBA) and protective fire fighting clothing (includes fire fighting helmet, coat, pants, boots, and gloves). If protective equipment is not available or not used, fight fire from a protected location or safe distance.
Accidental release measures
ACTION TO TAKE FOR SPILLS: Eliminate all sources of ignition in vicinity of spill or released vapour to avoid fire or explosion. Vapour explosion hazard, keep out of sewers. Check area with combustible gas detector before re-entering area. Ground and bond all containers and handling equipment. Absorb small spills with a non-reactive absorbent and place in a suitable container for disposal. If available, use foam to smother or suppress. Pump with explosion-proof equipment. Wash exposed body areas thoroughly after handling.
Handling and storage
RISK MANAGEMENT MEASURES: This substance is handled under Strictly Controlled Conditions in accordance with REACH Regulation Article 18(4). Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements including the selection of engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls in accordance with risk-based management systems is available at each manufacturing/ use site. Risk Management Measures are detailed in the attached documentation. Written confirmation of application of Strictly Controlled Conditions has been received from every affected Distributor and Downstream Processor/User of the Registrant’s intermediate.
HANDLING: Keep out of reach of children. Do not swallow. Avoid contact with eyes, skin, and clothing. Avoid breathing vapours and spray mist. Handle concentrate in ventilated area. No smoking, open flames, or sources of ignition in handling and storage area. Electrically bond and ground all
containers and equipment before transfer or use of material. Never use air pressure for transferring product. Use of nonsparking or explosion proof equipment may be necessary, depending on the type of operation. Containers, even those that have been emptied, can contain vapours. Do not cut, drill, grind, weld, or perform similar operations on or near empty containers. Wash thoroughly with soap and water after handling and before eating, chewing gum, using tobacco, using the toilet or smoking. Keep away from food, feedstuffs, and water supplies.
STORAGE: Minimize sources of ignition, such as static buildup, heat, spark or flame. Keep containers closed.

Exposure controls / personal protection

These precautions are suggested for conditions where a potential for exposure exists. Emergency conditions may require additional precautions.
ENGINEERING CONTROLS: Provide general and/or local exhaust ventilation.
EYE/FACE PROTECTION: Use chemical goggles.
SKIN PROTECTION: Use protective clothing. Selection of specific items such as face shield, gloves, boots, apron, or full body suit will depend on operations. Remove contaminated clothing immediately, wash skin area with soap and water, and launder clothing before reuse. Contaminated leather items, such as shoes, belts, and watchbands, should be removed, destroyed and disposed of. Safety shower should be located in immediate work area.
RESPIRATORY PROTECTION: Use a NIOSH approved air-purifying respirator dust. In misty atmospheres, use a NIOSH approved mist respirator.
APPLICATORS AND ALL OTHER HANDLERS: Refer to the product label for personal protective clothing and equipment.
Stability and reactivity
STABILITY: (CONDITIONS TO AVOID) Stable under recommended storage conditions. Exposure to elevated temperatures can cause product to decompose.
INCOMPATIBILITY: (SPECIFIC MATERIALS TO AVOID) Avoid contact with strong acids and/or strong oxidizers.
HAZARDOUS DECOMPOSITION PRODUCTS:
Decomposition products depend upon temperature, air supply and the presence of other materials. Decomposition products can include and are not limited to hydrogen fluoride and/or nitrogen oxides.
Disposal considerations
DISPOSAL METHOD: If wastes and/or containers cannot be disposed of according to the product label directions, disposal of this material must be in accordance with your local or area regulatory authorities. This information presented below only applies to the material as supplied.
