Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

4VP is likely to be absorbed via the gastrointestinal tract, distributed in the water compartment of the body, and excreted via the kidneys with or without metabolism.  Bioaccumulation and deposition in fat or breast milk is not likely.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Bioaccumulation potential:
low bioaccumulation potential
Absorption rate - oral (%):
100
Absorption rate - dermal (%):

Absorption rate - inhalation (%):

Additional information

Assessment of the toxicokinetic behaviour of 2VP, and by analogue similarity of the common functional group, 4VP, was undertaken to the extent that can be derived from the relevant available information. Critical data included is low molecular weight, high water solubility and low octanol/water partitioning. These data suggest that 4VP is likely to be absorbed via the gastrointestinal tract, distributed in the water compartment of the body, and excreted via the kidneys with or without metabolism.  At the least, phase II conjugation enzymes may act upon absorbed 4VP. Bioaccumulation and deposition in fat or breast milk is not likely.
