Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

- Endpoint:
- biodegradation in water: ready biodegradability
- Type of information:
- experimental study
- Adequacy of study:
- key study
- Study period:
- 28 day study
- Reliability:
- 1 (reliable without restriction)
- Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
- comparable to guideline study
- Qualifier:
- equivalent or similar to guideline
- Guideline:
- OECD Guideline 301 D (Ready Biodegradability: Closed Bottle Test)
- Deviations:

- GLP compliance:
- not specified
- Inoculum or test system:
- activated sludge (adaptation not specified)
- Remarks:
- For the inoculation of the test, activated sludge effluent from a pilot plant for the treatment of domestic and industrial sewage was used.
- Details on inoculum:
- Inoculum cell concentration: 13.8E+7 cells/mL
- Details on study design:
- The test consisted of the following tests:
1. Blank: nutrient solution with inoculum.
2. Biodegradable standard: nutrient-solution with inoculum plus 2.0 mL/L of the standard glucose solution.
COD in the test vial for glucose: 2.0 mg/L
3. Test substance test: nutrient solution with binoculars plus 0.14 mL/L of the test substance solution. Final COD concentration: 2.0 mg/L.
4. Inhibition assay: nutrient solution with inoculum, 2.0 ml/L glucose solution, 0.14 ml/L test substance solution. Final concentrations (in terms of COD): 2.0 mg/L for glucose and 2.0 mg/L for test substance. Total 4.0 mg/L.
4000 mL of these test solutions were prepared in a 5000 mL beaker and transferred to previously identified BOD bottles.
For each test, 2 vials were prepared at each reading time. Readings were taken at the beginning of the test, at 5, 10, 15, 20 and 28 days of testing.
The vials were hermetically closed and incubated in the dark at 200 ± 20 °C, except for the vials referring to time "0" (beginning of the test), which measured dissolved oxygen soon after preparation. - Parameter:
