Justification for classification or non-classification

The test method based on the EPISKIN™ assay allows the prediction of both irritant and non-irritant substances and can thus be considered as a stand alone method to be used as replacement for the animal test. Therefore, allyl heptanoate is considered not to have skin irritatiting properties and should not be classified and labelled according to regulation (EC) No.: 1272/2008.

According to the in vitro eye irritation testing the test substance should not be classified and labelled according to regulation (EC) No.: 1272/2008.
