First-aid measures
Description of first aid measures
First aid personnel should pay attention to their own safety. If the patient is likely to become
unconscious, place and transport in stable sideways position (recovery position). Immediately
remove contaminated clothing.
If inhaled:
Keep patient calm, remove to fresh air, seek medical attention. Immediately administer a
corticosteroid from a controlled/metered dose inhaler.
On skin contact:
Immediately wash thoroughly with plenty of water, apply sterile dressings, consult a skin specialist.
On contact with eyes:
Immediately wash affected eyes for at least 15 minutes under running water with eyelids held open, consult an eye specialist.
On ingestion:
Immediately rinse mouth and then drink 200-300 ml of water, seek medical attention.

Symptoms: The most important known symptoms and effects are described in the labelling.
Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed
Treat according to symptoms (decontamination, vital functions), no known specific antidote.
Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: dry powder, carbon dioxide, foam.
Unsuitable extinguishing media for safety reasons: water.

Hydrogen chloride can be released in case of fire.

Ensure thorough ventilation of stores and work areas. Protect against moisture. Avoid aerosol
formation.

Prevent electrostatic charge - sources of ignition should be kept well clear - fire extinguishers should be kept handy.
Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities
Segregate from alkalies and alkalizing substances.

Supplementary note: The specifications are based on tests, literature data and information of glove manufacturers or are derived from similar substances by analogy. Due to many conditions (e.g. temperature) it must be considered, that the practical usage of a chemical-protective glove in practice may be much shorter than the permeation time determined through testing.
Manufacturer's directions for use should be observed because of great diversity of types.

Possibility of hazardous reactions
Evolution of corrosive gases/vapours. Reacts with water and basic components to generate heat. On contact with water, gaseous decomposition products are formed, which cause build-up of pressure in tightly closed containers. Reacts with alkalies and metals. Reacts with alcohols, amines, aqueous acids and alkalies. Reacts with water and moisture, with formation of hydrogen chloride. Partly very violent reactions with bases and numerous organic classes of substances such as alcohols and amines. Addition of water leads to increase in temperature. Vapours may form ignitable mixture with air. Substance/product is highly reactive. In damp air hydrochloric acid formation is possible. Violent reactions with water and/or alcohols, with formation of hydrochloric acid. Violent and explosive reaction with water.
Conditions to avoid

storage. Disregard of the conditions mentioned may result in undesirable decomposition reactions.

Incinerate in suitable incineration plant, observing local authority regulations.
Contaminated packaging:

recycling after being thoroughly cleaned.
