Results and discussion

Water solubility
Key result
Water solubility:
> 100 g/L
Conc. based on:
test mat. (total fraction)
Incubation duration:
ca. 10 min
Temp.:
25 °C
pH:
>= 6.57 - <= 8.68
Remarks on result:
completely miscible
Remarks:
"room temperature" not specified
Details on results:

Since it is known that the test item is very well soluble in water, the solubility of the test item in water was performed using a simplified flask method. In this case it was not possi- ble to weigh the fivefold saturation concentration of the test item in water in order to per- form a main test following OECD 105.

After mixing of 1 and 10 g test item (nominal), respectively, with 0.1, 1, 2, 5 and 10 mL H2O, DIMETHYLSULFOXIDE D6 was completely dissolved (visual judgement).

In conclusion, DIMETHYLSULFOXIDE D6 was considered to be miscible with water in all proportions and no further testing was performed.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
The results of the main test indicate that DIMETHYLSULFOXIDE D6 is miscible with water in all proportions.
Executive summary:

In an OECD 105 study, the results of the main test indicate that DIMETHYLSULFOXIDE D6 is miscible with water in all proportions.
