Preliminary Test
The preliminary estimate of water solubility was less than 1.0 x 10E-04 g/L at 20.0 ± 0.5°C. pH 6.9 was recorded .
Definitive Test
The water solubility of the test item has been determined to be less than 1.3 x 1 0E-04g/L of solution at 20.0 ± 0.5°C. pH 6 was recorded. - Conclusions:
- The water solubility of the test item was assessed in accordance with OECD Guideline 105 and was determined to be less than 1.3E-04 g/l of solution at 20.0 ± 0.5°C.

The determination was carried out using the flask method using a procedure designed to be compatible with Method A6 Water Solubility of Commission Regulation (EC) No. 440/2008 of 30 May 2008 and Method 105 of the OECD Guidelines for Testing of Chemcials, 27 July 1995

The water solubility of the test item has been determined to be less than 1.3E-04g/L of solution at 20 ± 0.5°C

Discussion
The test item was a complex mixture, and thus the flask shake method was deemed to be the most suitable method for determining the water solubility. On completion of the equlibration period, the samples were a clear, colourless solutions with excess test item present. No further clean up was necessary.
A chromatogram of the standard blank was subtracted from all the chromatograms to remove the baseline shift caused by the mobile phase gradient. The main test item components were amalgamated in the chromatograpy as one peak by the mobile phase gradient. The amalgamated peak was used to calculate the water solubility in the test item.
On inspection of the chromatography, it appeared that samples 1B and 3A had an interference peak as the profile did not match that of the standards whose profiles were consistent through out the run. In addition, they were both one of two replicated and the other replicates did not display the interfering peak. Neither of the two replicates for sample 2 showed the interfering peaks. Although the concentration of these two samples including the interference was not high 0.31 and 0.37mg/L respectively it was considered not representative of the test item. The results for Sample 1B and 3A were not included when determining the sample concentrations.
As the majority of the test item components were expected to be essentially insoluble in water, the peak in the samples not included Sample 1B and 3A could have been comprised on system artifacts. The overall water solubility result was taken as a limit value to be a worst case scenario based on the highest overall sample result which gave less that 1.3xE-04g/L. It was considered not reliable to generate a significantly lower value as the result was at the lower end of the calibration curve where there is considerable inaccuracy and is close to the limit of detection/quantification. Additionally the preliminary test result agreed with the definitive test result.
The definitive result was approximately the sae as the level used in the recovery procedure validation which demonstrated the majority of the test item would have been recovered from solution at this concentration.
