First-aid measures

In the case of accident or if you feel unwell, seek medical advice immediately (show the label where possible).

Ensure that the First Aid Personnel are aware of the product involved, and take precautions to protect themselves (e.g. wear personal protection equipment). Move out of dangerous area. Take off all contaminated clothing immediately.

If inhaled:       If breathed in, move person into fresh air. If breathing is irregular or stopped, administer artificial respiration.

In case of skin contact:       Wash off immediately with soap and plenty of water.

In case of eye contact:       Immediately flush eye(s) with plenty of water. Protect unharmed eye.

If swallowed:       If swallowed, seek medical advice immediately and show this container or label. Clean mouth with water and drink afterwards plenty of water.

Fire-fighting measures

Standard procedure for chemical fires. Use extinguishing measures that are appropriate to local circumstances and the surrounding environment.

Please observe escape and rescue routes!

Suitable extinguishing media:  Alcohol-resistant foam, Dry powder, Water spray jet

Unsuitable extinguishing media: High volume water jet, Carbon dioxide (CO2)

Do not inhale explosion and/or combustion gases. Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective suit.

Hazardous decomposition products formed under fire conditions. In the event of fire and/or explosion do not breathe fumes.

The substance decomposes exothermally in case of heating or fire. Use water spray to cool unopened containers.

Retain water from fire fighting.

Accidental release measures

Avoid release to the environment. Retain and dispose of contaminated wash water.

Methods for cleaning up:  Contain spillage, pick up with an electrically protected vacuum cleaner and transfer to a container for disposal

according to local regulations. Clean contaminated floors and objects thoroughly, observing environmental regulations.

Containers in which spilt substance has been collected must be adequately labelled.

Handling and storage

Persons susceptible to skin sensitisation problems or asthma should not be employed in any process in which this substance is being used.

Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. Avoid contact of the substance. Ensure that eye flushing systems and safety showers are located close to the working place.

Dust can form an explosive mixture with air. Keep away from heat and sources of ignition. No sparking tools should be used. Normal measures for preventive fire protection.

Hygiene measures: General industrial hygiene practice. Keep away from food and drink. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Contaminated

work clothing should not be allowed out of the workplace. Wash hands before breaks and at the end of workday. Please thoroughly clean and care

for the skin after finishing work. Follow the skin protection plan.

Requirements for storage areas and containers: Keep containers tightly closed in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place. Keep away from heat and

sources of ignition. Do store at temperatures above 50°C for longer time periods or while storage in silos or big bulk container. Do not exceed

temperatures of 85°C for longer than 24 h.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Technical measures: Product should be worked up in closed equipment as far as possible. Provide sufficient air exchange and/or exhaust in work

rooms. Dust must be extracted directly at the point of origin.

Eye protection: Depending on the risk, wear sufficient eye protection (safety glasses with side protection or goggles, and if necessary, face  shield.)

Hand protection: Choose gloves to protect hands against chemicals depending on the concentr specific to place of work. The selected protective

gloves have to comply with the specifications of EU Directive 89/686/EEC and the standard EN 374 derived from it. Take note of the information

given by the producer concerning permeability and break through times, and of special work-place conditions (mechanical strain, duration of

contact).

Suitable: Nitrile rubber gloves.

With solid dry substances permeation is not to be expected, therefore the breakthrough-time for this protective glove has not been measured.

Gloves must be inspected prior to use. Gloves should be discarded and replaced if there is any indi-cation of degradation or chemical

breakthrough. Gloves must be rinsed thoroughly after use.

Skin and body protection: Choose body protection in relation to its type, to the concentration and amount of dangerous substances, and to the

specific workplace, e.g. apron, boots, protective suit (EN 14605, EN ISO 13982-1, EN 13034).

Respiratory protection: Use the indicated respiratory protection if the occupational exposure limit is exceeded and/or in case of product release

(dust). Suitable mask with particle filter P3 (European Norm 143).

Stability and reactivity

Dust is combustible and forms explosive mixtures with air.

The substance is thermally unstable.

Avoid contact to acids, bases and oxidative substances.

Disposal considerations

This material and its container must be disposed of as hazardous waste. Dispose of in conjunction with appropriate waste disposal authorities

and in accordance with disposal regulations.

Packaging that cannot be cleaned should be disposed of as product waste. For disposal local regulation is binding.
