Following a DOC removal test according to ISO 7827, the substance is readily biodegradable according to the OECD criteria.
An adaptation was necessary to eliminate the substance from water by activated sludge. The elimination significantly started after day 21. After 29 days, the substance was completely eliminated in activated sludge taken from a domestic wwtp (BASF AG, 1990).
