Short-term toxicity to fish

Administrative data

Endpoint:
short-term toxicity to fish
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
study well documented, meets generally accepted scientific principles, acceptable for assessment
Justification for type of information:
For this endpoint, an analysis based on the components is performed. Based on SIDS report on Sodium carbonate no acute toxicity was observed on the three trophic levels, including the fish. Based on the SIDS report and EU-RAR about sodium hydroxide, no acute toxicity was observed on the three trophic levels, including the fish. For Na2S, based on registration dossier data, acute fish toxicity was observed, with a LC50 of 0.0027 mg/L.Several other data are available in the registration dossier. The conclusion is that for the multi-constituent, acute fish toxicity is taken into account based on Na2S.
