Chromium(III) hydroxide is orally practically non-toxic to rats. This is in line with the findings for Chromium(III) oxide. Two female rats reduced weight gain. The more soluble Chromium(III) hydroxide sulphate and Chromium(III) nitrate are slightly toxic to rats via oral route.

Based on the available information chrmoium(III)hydroxide is considered as not toxic via the oral route.
