Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Appearance: Organic substance in the form of yellow-brown paste, by visual inspection.

Melting point: The melting point test was performed, using EU Method A.1, on the test substance which concluded the melting temperature was over the range 31 to 55 °C (304 to 328 K).

Boiling point: Decomposition from approximately 128 °C (401 K) at 101 kPa, by differential scanning calorimetry, designed to be compatible with EU Method A.2 and OECD Method 103. As the test item decomposed, no value for boiling temperature could be determined.

Density: The density of the test item has been determined to be 950 kg/m3at 20.0 ± 1.0 °C and a relative density of 0.950, by gas comparison pycnometer, designed to be compatible with EU Method A.3 and OECD Method 109.

Vapor Pressure: The vapor pressure of the test substance was determined at two temperatures using the vapor pressure balance method, designed to be compatible with EU Method A.4 and OECD Method 104, resulting in a vapor pressure of 1.27E-2 Pa at 25 °C and 0.149 Pa at 70 °C.

Partition coefficient: Partition Coefficient (n-octanol/water) was determined to be greater than 1.0E+10, log10 Pow of >10.0, using the HPLC method, designed to be compatible with EU Method A.8 and OECD Method 117.

Water solubility: The water solubility of the test item was determined to be < 1E-3 gC/L at 20.0 ± 0.5 °C, according to EU Method A.6 and OECD Method 105.

Flash point: The flash point of the test item has been determined to be 224 ± 2 °C, using a closed cup equilibrium method designed to be compatible with EU Method A.9.

Auto-Flammability: Auto-Ignition Temperature (Liquids and Gases) was determined to be 394 ± 5 °C, using a procedure designed to be compatible with EU Method A.15.

Flammability: The flammability (solids) was determined by measuring the burning rate of test item prepared as a pile of set dimensions. Testing was conducted using a procedure designed to be compatible with EU Method A.10. The test item failed to ignite during the 2 minutes that the Bunsen flame was applied and therefore considerednot highly flammable.

Explosiveness: A prediction was undertaken using a procedure designed to be compatible with EU Method A.14; Based on the chemical structure of the test item the result for the explosive properties has been predicted negative.

Oxidizing properties: A prediction was undertaken using a procedure designed to be compatible with Method A.21; Based on the chemical structure of the test item the result for the oxidizing properties has been predicted negative.
