Description of key information

For the structural analogue isodecyl methacrylate, no melting point was detected but a glasstransition temperature at - 116°C at 1018 hPa. For n-Decyl methacrylate, a melting point below - 20 °C can be anticipated.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The melting temperature of the structural analogue Isodecyl methacrylate was determined by differential scanning calorimetry according to EEC Directive 92/69 EEC, Part A, Methods for the determination of physicochemical properties, A. 1Melting Temperature, EEC Publication No. L383, December 1992. no melting point was detected, but a glass transition temperature of - 116 °C at 1018 hPa. The structural analogue 2 -Ethylhexyl methacrylate showed a melting point below - 50 °C. For n-decyl methacrylate, a melting point below - 20 °C can be anticipated.
