Endpoint:
water solubility
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
25/04/2016 – 09/05/2016
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.6 (Water Solubility)
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Type of method:
column elution method
Key result
Water solubility:
>= 0 mg/L
Temp.:
20 °C
pH:
7
Details on results:
The preliminary investigation showed that 1.5 mg of Copper Oleate did not dissolve in 200 mL water. Even after the sample had been shaken, sonicated for 90 minutes and warmed to 40°C. Analysis of the supernatant liquid by HPLC showed no peaks corresponding to the product.
A theoretical determination of the water solubility was carried out using Epi Suite V4.11.

Software Estimation
The predicted results showed:
Water Solubility Estimate from Log Kow (WSKOW v1.42):
Water Solubility at 25°C (mg/L): 3.534 x10-10 log Kow used : 14.55 (estimated) melting point used : 25.24°C

Water Sol Estimate from Fragments:
Wat Sol (v1.01 est) = 6.2849 x10-7 mg/L

Both values obtained using the theoretical calculations are below the limit of detection for the HPLC method.
