First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: If signs/symptoms develop, get medical attention. If
signs/symptoms develop, remove person to fresh air.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Get immediate medical attention. Immediately flush eyes with
large amounts of water for at least 15 minutes.
Emergency measure - Skin: Immediately flush skin with large amounts of water. Get
medical attention. Wash contaminated clothing and clean
shoes before reuse.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Get immediate medical attention. Do not induce vomiting
unless instructed to do so by medical personnel. Give victim
two glasses of water. Never give anything by mouth to an
unconscious person.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: Non-combustible. Choose material suitable for surrounding
fire.
Product arising from burning: Carbonyl Fluoride. Carbon monoxide. Carbon dioxide. Hydrogen
Fluoride.
Hazardous polymerization will not occur. Stable.
Product determined by test: N
Protective equipment: Wear full protective clothing, including helmet, self-
contained, positive pressure or pressure demand breathing
apparatus SCBA), bunker cot and pants, bands around arms,
waist and legs, face mask, and protective covering for
exposed areas of the head.
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: Ventilate the area with fresh air. Collect as much of the
spilled material as possible. Clean up residue. Place in a
closed container approved for transportation by appropriate
authorities. Dispose of collected material as soon as
possible.
Incinerate in an industrial or commercial facility in the
presence of a combustible material. Combustion products will
include HF. Facility must be capable of handling
halogenated materials. As a disposal alternative, dispose of
waste product in a facility permitted to accept chemical
waste.
Handling and storage
Handling: - Eye Protection:
Avoid eye contact. The following should be worn alone or in
combination, as appropriate, to prevent eye contact:
indirect Vented Goggles
- Hand Protection:
The following glove material(s) are recommended: nitrile
rubber.
- Skin Protection: Avoid skin contact.
- Respiratory Protection:
Avoid breathing of dust. Do not breathe thermal
decomposition products. During heating: Avoid breathing of
vapors.
Select one of the following approved respirators based on
airborne concentration of contaminants and in accordance
with regulations: Fullface air-purifying respirator with
organic vapor/acid gas cartridges and N95 particulate
prefilters Fullface supplied-air respirator
- Ingestion:
Do not eat, drink or smoke when using this product. Wash
exposed areas thoroughly with soap and water.
- Recommended Ventilation:
Provide appropriate local exhaust when product is heated.
Storage: Keep container closed when not in use.
Store away from acids. Store away from heat.
