no

Test substrate

Vehicle:
no
Details on preparation and application of test substrate:
SOIL CHARACTERISTICS:
- A field soil certified by the Agricultural Experimental and Research Establishment in Speyer (see certificate sample number 9003 of Feb. 6, 1995), which complies with the characteristics mentioned in the test regulations, was used as culture substrate.
- Type of soil: topsoil; Ioamy sand
- pH . 6.7
- Content of lime: 1.1%
- Humus: 3.46%
- Boron (B): 0.96 mg/kg air-dried soll
- Potassium (K2O): 350 mg/kg air-dried soll
- Magnesium (Mg): 110 mg/kg air-dried soil
- Phosphate (P2O5): 440 mg/kg air-dried soil
- 14 days before the beginning of the test, the max. water capacity of the soil was determined according to DIN/ISO3 10 390.

APPLICATION OF THE TEST SUBSTANCE TO THE SOIL:
- A defined amount of the test substance was melted in a water bath at about 70°C, and thoroughly mixed with inert quartz sand.
- The quartz sand coated with test substance was uniformly mixed with the test substrate using a stirrer.
- Every concentration was prepared separately with the same amount of quarz sand (10g per kg soil dry matter) in each case.

Test conditions

Test temperature:
20 +/- 2°C
Moisture:
Max. water capacity: 31.3%
Details on test conditions:
- PVC plant pots with an upper internal diameter of 85 mm, covered by plastic Petri dishes until the beginning of emergence
- Loading (seeds/pot): 10 dry seeds
- Sowing depth: about 5 mm (Brassica) and about 15 mm (Avenia)
- Total No.: of seeds/test conc.: 40
- No. of replicates/test conc.: 4
- No. of replicates/control: 4
- Relative humidity: about 60-80%
- Type of illumination: Fluorescent lamps OSRAM L58 W31 warm white
- Light: dark rhythm: 16h / 8h
- Light intensity: About 7000 lux
- The untreated seed was applied dry (unsoaked) to the soil.
- The emergence rate of the seed and the formation of fresh and dry matter and shoot length at the end of the study were determined as test criteria compared with a control in untreated soil and given as EC values.
Nominal and measured concentrations:
- The test substance was tested at nonimal concentrations of 125, 250, 500 and 1000 mg/kg dry matter of soil.
- The dilution factor was 2. The substance was mixed in a soil of a specific composition.
