First-aid measures
Adverse effects are not expected after eye or skin contact with the substance. If eye contact occurs, wash eyes with plenty of water; if skin contact occurs, wash skin with plenty of soap and water. If any adverse effect occurs, consult a physician.
In case of ingestion, wash mouth and if any difficulty occurs consult a physician.
In case of inhalation, take the victim to fresh air and take at rest in a position comfortable for breathing. If difficulties occur, consult a physician.
Fire-fighting measures
SUITABLE EXTINGUISHING MEDIA: CO2, dry chem, alcohol-resistant foam, water spray
UNSUITABLE: Non alcohol-resistant foam.
SPECIAL HAZARDS ARIZING FROM THE COMBUSTION OF THE PRODUCT: Chemical is not classified as flammable. During combustion, toxic gases, such as oxides of carbon, may be released. Be equipped with adequate personal protections.
EXPLOSION HAZARD: The product, as supplied, does not pose any explosion hazard.
Accidental release measures
PROCEDURES FOR THE CONTAINMENT AND CLEANING UP:
Liquids can make the surface slippery: pay attention to it. Before proceeding to the cleaning up, trained personnel should remove any flame or open fire, if present, from the area where the accidental release took place.
Stem poured substance and use good normal housekeeping procedures to remove it, clean and sanitize the area. If accidentally released in water the substance tends to float: mechanically remove or vacuum up it and place into drums or other suitable container for disposal (refer to chapter 13 for waste disposal).
Carefully avoid dispersion of substance into drains, surface and ground water.
Handling and storage
PRECAUTIONS FOR SAFE HANDLING: Handle in well-ventilated areas with long sleeved clothes and gloves. If processing requires heating use approved heat resistant protective gloves; and if vapors are generated, provide local and/or general exhaustive aspiration and/or use appropriate masks.
Refer to chapter 8 for personal eye, skin, hand and respiratory protections. Do not eat, drink or smoke in the areas where substance is stored, handled, processed. Personnel handling the substance should wash hands before eating, drinking and smoking.
SAFE STORAGE, INCLUDING ANY INCOMPATIBILITIES: Ensure the packaging is not damaged. Avoid storage under direct sunlight, high temperature and humidity. Store in cool (below 40°C), dry, well-ventilated area, away from heat sources, flame, spark sources, moisture, acid, alkaline or oxidizing substances.

Exposure controls / personal protection
EXPOSURE LIMITES: Community limit: None
National limit values: None
EXPOSURE CONTROLS: Good industrial hygiene should be adopted.
ENGINEERING CONTROLS: If vapors of the heated substance occur, provide general and local exhaustive aspiration. Avoid vapors breathing.
EYE PROTECTION: Safety glasses.
SKIN PROTECTION: Lightweight protective industrial clothing.
HAND PROTECTION: General purpose gloves. If substance is heated use approved heat resistant gloves, according to EN374 and EN407.
RESPIRATORY PROTECTION: Wear appropriate mask if vapors are generated by heated substance during processing: use “A” type filters approved for gas and organic substances according to EN141.
Stability and reactivity
REACTIVITY: Reacts with strong reducing and oxidizing agents, amines, bases and strong acids.
CHEMICAL STABILITY: Stable under normal storage conditions.
POSSIBILITY OF HAZARDOUS REACTIONS: Not expected in normal storage and use conditions.
CONDITIONS TO AVOID: Flames, ignition sources, excessive heat.
INCOMPATIBLE MATERIALS: Strong oxidizing agents, bases and strong acids.
HAZARDOUS DECOMPOSITION PRODUCTS: Carbon oxides can be produced during combustion.
Disposal considerations
WASTE TREATMENT METHODS: Dispose residues and packaging in accordance with local and state laws. Dispose of hazardous products according to European Waste Catalogue (EWC).
