Legal Entity Composition Ba dodecylphenolate
Reference substance:
Legal Entity Composition Ba dodecylphenolate
Name:
Barium 4-dodecylphenolate
Type of composition:
boundary composition of the substance
State / form:
solid: bulk
Reference substance:
Barium 4-dodecylphenolate
Reference substance:
Barium 4-dodecylphenolate
PBT status:
PBT assessment does not apply
Justification:

According to Annex XIII of Regulation (EC) 1907/2006, a PBT and vPvB assessment shall not be conducted for inorganic substances. Barium 4-dodecylphenolate is an inorganic metal salt; thus, a PBT and vPvB assessment is not required.

However, barium 4-dodecylphenolate consists of barium cations and 4-dodecylphenolate anions. Barium cations are inorganic; thus, a PBT and vPvB assessment is not required. Phenol, dodecyl-, branched is not considered to be PBT or vPvB. According to the ECB – Summary Fact Sheet PBT Working Group – PBT List No.55 on dodecylphenol (tested on Tetrapropenylphenol CAS No. 74499-35-7), The substance meets the T criteria, and is likely to meet the P (and vP) criteria (based on screening data). It does not meet the B criterion and so is not considered to be a PBT substance.“ Accordingly, dodecylphenolate anions are also not considered to be PBT or vPvB.
