The toxicity of Vinylmercaptoethanol (CAS 3090-56-0) to aquatic algae was investigated in static GLP study performed according to OECD TG 201 (BASF SE, 2017), using Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata as test organism.The ErC50 (72 h) was determined to be >100 mg/L (72-h ErC10: >100 mg/L, based on nominal test concentrations). The substance is concluded to be with high probability acutely not harmful to aquatic green algae and cyanobacteria.
