Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Considering the toxicity of Tripropylenglykoldiacrylate (TPGDA, CAS 42978-66-5) to aquatic algae, experimental data are available for fresh water.

A static non-GLP 72 -h test with Desmodesmus subspicatus was conducted according to the German standard DIN 38412 p 9 (similar to OECD 201). The 72-h ErC50 and the 72 -h EC10 were 65.9 and 6.6 mg/L respectively (nominal, BASF AG, 1988, Rep. no.:88/0671).

The substance was dissolved in chremophor (stock solution: 0.1%) prior to testing.

The test concentrations were not analytically verified.

However, the test concentrations are assumed to be stable over the exposure period based on a sufficient water solubility, a low Henry's Law constant (see IUCLID Ch. 5.4.2) and a low adsorption potential (log Kow = 2.7, measured, see IUCLID Ch.4.7; Log Koc = 3, worst-case, estimated, see IUCLID Ch. 5.4.1).

In conclusion, the substance with high probability is acutely harmful to aquatic freshwater algae.
