Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Acid chlorides, coco:

The toxicity of acid chlorides, coco (CAS 68187 -89 -3) was studied under GLP following OECD 202 (BASF SE, 2012; project no. 50E0399/11X282). The test species was Daphnia magna. The test was performed under static condistions with analytical monitoring of the test item concentrations. Besides testing the test item without pH-adjustment, a neutralised test solution was run in addition. The 48 -h EC50 was determined to be 141 mg/L (not neutralised, measured). After adjustment of the pH value, no effect was observed at 800 mg/L (measured).

Hydrochloric acid:

The hydrolysis product hydrochloric acid (HCl) was tested in a semi-static acute toxicity test according to OECD 202 with Daphnia magna. The 48-h EC50 was 0.492 mg/L (acid equivalent to pH 5.3; OECD 2002).
