First-aid measures
General advice: If symptoms persist, call a physician or Poison Control Centre immediately.
If inhaled: IF INHALED: Remove to fresh air and keep at rest in a position comfortable for breathing. If breathing is irregular or stopped, administer artificial respiration.
In case of skin contact: Remove immediately adhering matter. Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash off immediately with plenty of water.
In case of eye contact: In case of eye contact, remove contact lens and rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at least 15 minutes. Call a physician immediately.
If swallowed: Clean mouth with water and drink afterwards plenty of water. Do NOT induce vomiting. Call a physician immediately.
Notes to physician:
Hazards: Causes burns.
Symptoms:. Irritation and corrosion, cough, shortness of breath.
Treatment: Treat symptomatically.
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable extinguishing media: Carbon dioxide (CO2), dry powder, foam, water spray
Extinguishing media which must not be used for safety reasons: Do not use a solid water stream as it may scatter and spread fire.
Special exposure hazards arising from the substance or preparation itself, its combustion products, or released gases: Carbon oxides, sulphur oxides, nitrogen oxides (NOx)
Special protective equipment for firefighting: Personal protection through wearing a tightly closed chemical protection suit and a self-contained breathing apparatus.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions: keep people away from and upwind of spill/leak. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. In the case of respirable dust, use self-contained breathing apparatus.
Environmental precautions: Hose down gases, fumes and/or dust with water. Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system. Retain and dispose of contaminated wash water.
Methods for cleaning up: Use mechanical handling equipment. Avoid dust formation.
Other information: Try to prevent the material from entering drains or water courses. Treat recovered material as described in the section "Disposal considerations".
Handling and storage
This substance is handled under strictly controlled conditions in accordance with REACH regulation Article 17 (3) for on-site isolated intermediates and, in case the substance is transported to other sites for further processing, the substance should be handled at these sites under the strictly controlled conditions as specified in REACH regulation Article 18 (4). Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements including the selection of engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls in accordance with risk-basedmanagement systems is available at each manufacturing site. Written confirmation of application of strictly controlled conditions has been received from every affected distributor and downstream manufacturer/user of the registrant's intermediate.
