Reliable toxicity data are only available for the long-term effect of vanadium on terrestrial plants and microorganisms. Reliable NOEC and EC10 values vary between 3.2 and 670 mg added V/kg (both results for effect of NaVO3 on the nitrification process; Baken et al., 2011). It was concluded that the information available is too limited to allow a robust effects assessment of V to terrestrial organisms. A research program on the ecotoxicity of vanadium to terrestrial invertebrates is ongoing in order to further refine the terrestrial effetcs assessment and PNEC derivation (SSD approach) and results will be included in the dossier when available.
