Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets
Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures
position; if person feels unwell, seek medical advice.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Wash inmediately with plenty of water with open eye at least
for 15 min;seek medical advice immediately.
Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothes; wash with plenty water and
soap; seek medical advice, if irritation develops.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Give affected person 3-4-glasses of water to drink; do not
induce vomiting; if vomitting occures, give water again;
seek medical advice immediately
Fire-fighting measures

protective coverings and gloves. Use HEPA filtered vacuum or
wet sweeping to clean up spillage. Avoid dust. Place
spillage in appropiate container for waste disposal. Wash
contaminated clothing for waste disposal. Wash contaminated
clothing before reuse. Ventilate area and wash spill site.
Handling and storage
Use with adequate dust control and local ventilation.
Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing.
Workers should wear gloves and anti-dust masques.
Shower body after handling.
Wear fresh clothes daily.

Disposal considerations
intermediate for a chemical reaction.
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: During semisynthetic or total synthetic chemistry programs
the particular importance of the lactone ring and the 20
(S)-configuration for activity was recognized. With an
alkali solution ( 5% Sodium hydroxide solution ) the
Camptothecin lactone ring is easily hydrolized.
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Does not apply due to the fact that CAMPTOTHECIN is an
intermediate for a chemical reaction.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Does not apply due to the fact that CAMPTOTHECIN is an
intermediate for a chemical reaction.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Does not apply due to the fact that CAMPTOTHECIN is an
intermediate for a chemical reaction.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: Does not apply due to the fact that CAMPTOTHECIN is an
intermediate for a chemical reaction.
Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Does not apply due to the fact that CAMPTOTHECIN is used by
industry in closed systems only.
Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: With an alkali solution ( 5 % Sodium hydroxide solution )
Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Does not apply due to the fact that CAMPTOTHECIN is an
intermediate for a chemical reaction.
Public at large - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Does not apply due to the fact that CAMPTOTHECIN is an
