- Endpoint:
- relative density
- Type of information:
- experimental study
- Adequacy of study:
- key study
- Study period:
- December 04, 2017
- Reliability:
- 1 (reliable without restriction)
- Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
- guideline study
- Qualifier:
- according to guideline
- Guideline:
- OECD Guideline 109 (Density of Liquids and Solids)
- Principles of method if other than guideline:
- The density of the sample was measured using a Micromeritics AccuPyc 1330 Pycnometer. The AccuPyc uses helium (CP grade, BOC) and applies the gas displacement technique to assess the density. The instrument reports the data from five consecutive results within a specified tolerance from each other. The average of these measurements is reported. The analysis was performed in duplicate.
- GLP compliance:
- no
- Type of method:
- pycnometer method

- Purity test date: 26 October 2017 - Key result
- Type:
- relative density
- Density:
- ca. 0.939 g/cm³
- Temp.:
- 19.79 °C
- Conclusions:
- The relative density of 2-butoxyethyl methacrylate is 0.939 g/cm3 at 19.79 °C.
- Executive summary:
The relative density of 2-butoxyethyl methacrylate was measured in an experiment using a Micromeritics AccuPyc 1330 Pycnometer. Analysis was carried out in duplicate. The registered substance was determined to have an average relative density of 0.939 g/cm3 at 19.79 °C.

Description of key information
2-Butoxyethyl methacrylate has a relative density of 0.939 g/cm3 at 19.79 °C.
Key value for chemical safety assessment
- Relative density at 20C:
- 0.939
Additional information
A Klimisch score of 1 (reliable without restriction) has been recommended for the endpoint conclusion as the study was carried out in accordance with OECD guidline without deviations.
