Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

- auto-ignition temperature = 227°C (CRC Handbook, 2005)

- auto-ignition temperature = 235°C (Yaws' Handbook, 2003)

227 °C

Additional information

There are two literature sources of similar reliability with slightly deviating results:

According to the CRC Handbook, the auto-ignition temperature of Octadecane is 227°C. The other available auto-ignition temperature, reported from Yaws' Handbook, is in the same range, allowing the conclusion that the available data can be considered sufficiently reliable. The lower value was chosen as the key value.
